Best Coffee Spots in Phillip Island

Nobbies Boardwalk

While you may come to Phillip Island for some much needed rest, relaxation and wind down time, coffee is still a necessary for many. Located just 2 hours from the coffee capital of the country, Melbourne, Phillip Island is stepping up their coffee game with a huge range of local cafes to choose from. We’ve put together our favourite coffee spots around town, make sure to stop by a couple on your next trip to BIG4 Phillip Island Caravan Park.

G’DAY TIGER

The newest spot in town, G’Day Tiger is set on a corner of Cowes’ main street only 30 seconds from the beach. Wanting to give locals a taste of the Melbourne coffee scene, the owners have decked out the place with concrete benchtops and plywood walls, setting it apart from Phillip Island’s longer-standing shops and restaurants.

You will find weekly rotating beans sourced from guest roasters across Melbourne, our favourites are Seven Seeds and Wood and Co Coffee.

If you’re feeling peckish, they offer a delicious range of freshly made sandwiches featuring their signature “Tiger” sauce. We can’t go past the Reuben!

The Waterboy Café

Coffee with a view? The Waterboy Café is perfectly located overlooking Westernport Bay, and has been newly renovated with shiny floorboards, high ceilings, and a huge window overlooking the water. With lots of quiet spots to sit, it’s the perfect place to enjoy with a warm cup of coffee, perhaps a book and take in the views!

They also serve up a big range of yummy meals and treats, we’re a sucker for their house-made caramel slice.

Bean’d

If you are a picky coffee drinker, this place is perfect for you! As you can probably guess from its name, BEANd is all about the coffee! With a passion for freshly roasted coffee and good food, this boutique café is a favourite among locals. Its small and cosy vibe makes for a jam-packed, bustling atmosphere in the morning with visitors stopping in for a takeaway coffee or a delicious serving of breakfast.

Make sure to grab a bag of your favourite beans on your way out!

Coffee Co.

Inspired by New York’s coffee houses, Phillip Island Coffee Co. is the ultimate espresso bar with extended hours, quality coffee, drinks, snacks and retail products! This quirky family business was born after owners Jen and Kristi explored the coffee scene in Manhattan in 2017 and could not wait to bring something similar to their hometown of Cowes.

Roasting coffee in store daily, you’re hit with a beautiful waft of coffee as soon as you walk in the door. Choose from a huge range of the best blends on the Islands, unique to all other coffee spots around. And, did we mention that it’s dog friendly so your furry friends can come along too!
