Cowes Main Beach
Undoubtably the most popular beach in Phillip Island, and for good reason, Cowes Main Beach is the perfect location for those looking for calm waters and stunning soft sand. The only north-facing beach in Victoria, meaning the water usually remains calm and sheltered, perfect for letting the little ones get their feet wet! Its proximity to town means there’s no lack of choice for foods and drinks, and there are even public BBQ and picnic facilities.

Kitty Miller Bay
The perfect location for snorkelling or exploring rock pools, depending on the tide, Kitty Miller Bay is one of Phillip Island’s most picturesque beaches. The bay stretches 500 metres in length and is south facing, meaning it’s quite sheltered although it isn’t patrolled. Dive below the surface to discover deep rock pools bursting with starfish, colourful marine and even some fish, all easy to spot in the crystal-clear water.

The perfect spot to catch your first wave, Smith’s Beach is another popular spot for families and surfers. It’s consistent, quality waves are ideal for beginners to advanced surfers, bodyboarders, stand up paddle boarders and swimmers. During low tide you can explore the rock pools at both ends of the beach, and its larger pools are also ideal for snorkelling.
