Phillip Island Winery
Located near the Grand Prix Circuit, Phillip Island Winery has a wide range of red and white wine to enjoy, including their 2008 Estate Chardonnay awarded 94 out of 100 by wine guru James Halliday.
The cellar door is a cute cottage-style building, offering wine tastings and a cosy log fire during the colder nights. Snack on their fabulous platters filled with local Gippsland cheeses and smoked trout accompanied with homemade dips, or move into the restaurant for a rustic lunch.
It’s best to call ahead before dropping by to their cellar door: 03 8595 2155. Opening hours are Thursday to Sunday from 11.30am to 5.30pm.
Purple Hen Winery
Overlooking the Bay of Western Port with stunning views of Swan Inlet, Churchill Island and Denne Bight, the 7.5 hectares Purple Hen Winery produces fantastic pinot noir and chardonnay, winning over 100 Medals and 20 Trophies at wine shows throughout Australia.
Their cellar door is open throughout the year from 11am to 5.30pm and a bottle makes for the perfect present to bring home.
Ocean Reach Brewing
Looking for good quality, tasty beer on Phillip Island? Ocean Reach Brewing is located in Cowes and offers 12 rotating taps including their core range (Lager, Pale Ale, IPA and Porter) and seasonal release beers from Wednesday through to Sundays, for both lunch and dinner.
There’s also an onsite food van dishing out sumptuous burgers, wings and other tasty bites with beer enjoyment in mind.
Rusty Water Brewery Restaurant and Bar
You can find a unique range of locally hand-crafted ales at Rusty Water Brewery from the Phillip Island Brewing Co. Specialising in creating unique small-batch hand-crafted beers with different flavours created with the use of speciality malts, yeasts, hops and the addition of things like oak, orange, vanilla and spaces. Their ales are available on tap and can be matched with great food and hospitality. Don’t miss out on the live acoustic music every Friday night too!
